Located on both 4th St. and Kimball Ave., Early Edition will start your day sunny side up.
In March of 2000, after seeing a need for an inviting breakfast restaurant in MHK and wanting a better quality of life for their family, Dave and Marcy Uphoff opened the first Early Edition location (Candlewood). Their delicious food, family-friendly atmosphere, and excellent service created success for them and allowed expansion to the East side in 2010. Early Edition has not only been great for the Uphoff family, but also for serving the Manhattan community and employing many young adults.

Fantastic local joint. The staff actually acts like they want to be there and the food is delicious. Glad this is an MHK staple. The Bordertown omelet was good with great chorizo inside. Definitely recommend.

Scrumptious, well-prepared food with decent-sized portions that reminds me of a home-cooked breakfast meal. Very friendly staff and service. The wait between ordering and being served was surprisingly quicker than I anticipated, so I was impressed! A great, inviting place for breakfast, brunch, and to also hang out and chat with your buddies.

Early Edition is hand down one of my most favorite breakfast places to which I have ever been. My friend and I visited this place during a business trip. Immediately, we noticed that every single item in the menu was a legit and enticing breakfast dish. There was nothing on the menu I did not want to try. Parks and Rec came to mind: "Why would anyone eat anything else other than breakfast food?"The customer service was incredible! My friend asked if he can swap the standard potatoes and toast for French toast. My initial thought was, "No way!" To our shock and amazement, however, the waiter said, "Of course you can swap those." Needless to say, our minds were blown! I opted for a waffle with my chicken fried steak and eggs, and it was all soooo delicious! It was simply tremendous and an epitome of the American breakfast!

This has always been my go to Restaurant for whatever I'm craving. Service is more than efficient. The food is always cooked at its best. The food portions are large which is perfect because I can take it home, and save it for a midnight snack! I recommend Early Editon to anyone who's craving lunch for breakfast or who's craving breakfast for lunch!

OMG. We stopped in here for a late breakfast/brunch after running the Bill Snyder Half Marathon… and boy was it worth it! So much food! And it was all good too! None of us were even able to completely clear our plates no matter how hard we tried!

The servers were kind, professional and prompt. Feels almost like a small town diner. I had the pancakes (blueberry, but they have three other flavors and original), they are HUGE and delicious, couldn't even finish the first one, haha. Also, let me tell you that's the best coffee I've had in a long while, from a restaurant. I plan on going back to try their other food. I definitely recommend.
